Rakhi Sawant is now ready to display her talent on the cricket field. Rakhi has just been signed on as head cheerleader for the upcoming Indian Cricket League Twenty-Twenty tournament.The item girl recently posed with a battalion of cheerleaders to make the announcementRakhi will be seen sporting cheerleader gear and dancing in the aisles during the matches, which are scheduled to kick off soon. The girls were all pretty excited to be rubbing shoulders with her.
Cheer leading is a relatively new concept in cricket. So, does Rakhi think dance is all that important to the gentleman’s game? “Dance is very important to cricket. Some people get bored during the dull moments of a match. When spectators get tired of waiting for fours and sixes, cheerleaders boost the atmosphere. It’s a complete package of cricket and glamour,” she said. Cheerleading, not unlike Rakhi herself, has also been in the eye of a storm. The concept has been viewed as unnecessary and obscene by a section of the Indian audience. Is Rakhi wary of the controversy she may be getting into? “I don’t ever think about controversies.
